Privacy Policy for “Pretzy”

Effective date: October 21, 2026 · App: “Pretzy” (Android, com.germly.app)
Contact: welcome@vynola.dev

This policy explains what data the “Pretzy” app (the “app”) processes, why, and with whom it may be shared. The developer (“we”) does not operate servers for the app, does not create user accounts and does not collect your personal data on its own servers. Third-party services used by the app (advertising and analytics) are described below.

1. Data stored on your device

Words you add, flashcard sets, learning progress, exercise results and settings (such as the reminder time) are stored only on your device. We do not receive them and do not share them with anyone.

If Android backup is enabled on your device, the system may save a copy of this data to your Google account (Google Drive) and restore it after reinstalling. This backup is performed by Google according to your device settings; we have no access to these backups.

2. Advertising and analytics (Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase)

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, prevent fraud and analyse crashes, Google may automatically collect:

This data is processed by Google as an independent controller under the Google Privacy Policy and Google’s advertising policies. Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent via Google User Messaging Platform and can change it at any time in the app: Settings → Ad privacy. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Android settings (Google → Ads).

The app also uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure app usage and the effectiveness of advertising (for example, app opens, screens viewed, installs and which ad campaign led to an install). Google may collect an app instance identifier, the advertising ID, device information, approximate location derived from the IP address and usage events. Analytics is switched on only after the ads SDK has started, i.e. after the consent flow where it applies (EEA, UK, Switzerland); if you decline consent, it stays limited as Google’s consent rules require. The data is processed by Google; we see only aggregated reports and cannot identify you from them.

After the “No ads” purchase, no ads are shown and the ads SDK does not load ads.

3. Purchases (Google Play)

The one-time “No ads” purchase is processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details; the app only receives confirmation from Google Play that the purchase was made.

4. Notifications and speech

If you allow notifications, the app shows local review reminders scheduled on your device; they are not sent through our servers. Word pronunciation uses the Android system Text-to-Speech engine; the app passes it only the word to be spoken, and the engine is governed by its provider (usually Google) and your device settings.

5. What the app does not do

6. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s data.

7. Retention and deletion

On-device data is kept until you uninstall the app or clear its data (Android Settings → Apps → Pretzy → Storage → Clear data). Data processed by Google (ads, purchases, backups) is retained and deleted under Google’s policies and can be managed at myaccount.google.com.

8. Your rights and contact

For privacy questions, email welcome@vynola.dev. Since we do not keep your personal data on our servers, we will help direct requests about ad or purchase data to Google.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The new version will be published on this page with its effective date.
